……..ObiHai, no we are not about to start a class in a foreign language but and add on to the post about Google Voice.
ObiHai Technologies is a manufacturer of an inexpensive phone solution that uses Google Voice to provide VOIP (Voice Over IP) for your home phone. Everyone has heard of Vonage, Magic Jack and other inexpensive home phone solutions. These solutions are great, but they cost you annually or monthly and some require Federal Taxes to be paid monthly.
Along comes ObiHai. Married with Google Voice ObiHai is paid for once, about $45, and then your forget it. It can be purchased from Fry’s Electronics or Amazon.
- Works with Google Voice
- Easy to Set-Up Using OBiTALK.com
- Also Supports T.38 Fax and SIP Bring Your Own Device Services like Anveo Callcentric, Voip.ms, etc.
- Works with Up to Four (4) VoIP Services Across One (1) Phone Port
There is one issue, 911! Up to this point there was not a capability for 911 service, however, I did some fast research and for $12 per year you can now add 911 service.
So, unless Google Voice starts charging for their service, this should be a great inexpensive solution for a home phone. In fact I think ObiHai may be Japanese for, a good deal!
